Reiki and intuition.. top 5 tips

It is going to help you in life, and in your reiki healing if you can improve the strength of your intuition.

Intuition is like a muscle. It grows in strength if you look after it.

Here are the top 5 tips from reikiblogger to improve your intuition, in no particular order:

 #1 Stop Smoking

Smoking clogs your energy channels. It clouds your mind. And adds waves of cravings to your mental lanscape. The key to good intuition is mental discipline. If you can control your mind, your intuition will be more readily available to you. For most smokers smoking is an addiction. Whenever you have that kind of mental habit, you are building a dam stopping the gentle flow of your intuition.

#2 Health and fitness

Having good health and fitness helps your intuition. Fatty and greasy foods make your mind cloudy. Intuition is a subtle sense. If your mind is not clear it will be difficult to sense it. Too, if you get tired easily during a treatment (which may go for 1 hour to 1.5 hours) you will find it harder to concentrate and keep your mind from wandering.

Reiki treatments.. Clearing symptoms

Something that is common knowledge amoung reiki people and not very well known by others is the concept of clearing symptoms.

What are clearing symptoms?

What sort of clearing symptoms should I expect from a reiki treatment?

Reiki is actually a very powerful healing practise. Perhaps clearing symptoms are part of the reason people like to put reiki in the bodywork category.. because most of the clearing symtoms are physical symptoms in the body.

The most common clearing symptoms are things like:

* laughing

* crying

* more frequent visits to the toilet

* vomitting

Geez! I hear you say.

Who would want to practise anything that produces those kinds of things. (smile) The main reason I wanted to write this post was because I was chatting to a good friend of mine who was telling me a story about his beloved mother. She had heard about this reiki stuff.. and decided to go along and have a complimentary session.. as an introduction.. which is a great idea.

Unfortunately, the practitioner did not really know what they were doing.. and beloved mother had some pretty strong clearing symptoms after the treatment (she vomitted violently).

Reiki Ideals.. work hard

This is an interesting ideal.. I think.

Usui really was a great practitioner, the founder of reiki practise in our time. This was one of the ideals he felt was important to follow for a reiki person.

Why?

Is it merely a simple, superficial request?

Reiki Ideals.. Do not anger

Implementing an ideal like DO NOT ANGER into your life does not have to be as impossible as you might think.

But it is going to take some considerable change in our thinking.

We need to start to think about the ways we cope with the world, and the ways we act in it. We need to start to slow down.

Reiki Ideals

There are five reiki ideals or ethics that were taught by M. Usui, the founder of reiki..

1. Do not anger

2. Do not worry

3. Be kind

4. Be dedicated in your work

5. Be filled with gratitude

AND Two guiding principles for the reiki practitioner:

1. Morning and night join your hands at your heart and

2. Let the ideals become your heart and pray them with your mouth.

Charging for reiki..

A contentious issue in some reiki circles is the issue of payment for receiving reiki treatments and instruction.

What do you think?

Should people charge for reiki?

How much is the right amount?

Unfortunately, up till now, in some parts of the reiki community, (and unfortunately some of the most active) there has been a very big emphasis placed on people charging substantial fees for courses, and trying to imply that this is an important part of the teacher-student relationship, and reiki training.
