#1 Give more reiki

The more often you use reiki, the clearer and more pure will be your healing. The common, although a little misleading analogy is that you are like a hose.. when you turn on the tap water runs through the hose and washes away any bits and pieces that have accumulated inside.. reiki is like the water.. you are like the hose. The more you practise reiki healing the more your system comes into balance.

#2 Practise daily meditation

The clearer your mind, the better your intuition will be, and the more effective reiki healer you will become. Getting out of your own way is the #1 goal for a reiki person. If you are able to train your ego to behave itself and follow along, rather than it being unruly and selfish, then you will be much more able to sense guidence, from the higher self, if you are treating a person and from your own inner guide.

 #3 Eat healthy

The more healthy your diet the clearer your mind. Simple.

#4 Less toxins (eg smoking)

The less unhealthy your vices the clearer your mind. Simple.

#5 Follow the reiki ideals (as best as you can without giving yourself a problem..)

The #1 goal of a reiki person is getting out of your own way. (did he already say that?) Because it helps you increase the strength of your intuition.. which helps you be a better reiki healer. Usui emphasised healing by following your intution.

Frank Petter talks about it and has written about it in his books. Intuitive healing in reiki is how we want to be healing. (But, do not throw out the set hand position method.. some days you need something to hold onto.. and Usui taught those hand positions for a reason)

It is not as hard as it might seem.. intuitive based reiki healing.. you just need to stick at it.. have a good mentor.. and do the simple (yet sometimes hard) things that help strengthen the power and clarity of your mind’s eye.

Morality (joined with wisdom) is the fifth way to improve your reiki healing. If you have a clear conscience you have a more stable and clear mind. Practising loving kindness is the cause for mental contentment. You can easily get out of your own way if your ego is stable, clear and content.

Training your mind training with the reiki ideals is a great way to do it.

Just do not give yourself a problem.. with your training. By being too fanatical. By being a fundamentalist. Do not fix one problem by creating another. A buddhist saying is that your practise should never be “slavish”. You should never use words like should (ha!). Your mind responds better when it is not beaten and bashed into line. One of my buddhist teacher’s Khensur Rinpoche, in Adelaide, says always keep a happy mind. Good advice.
