reiki, giving reiki with your breath..

How do you give reiki with your breath?

This is a bit of a follow on from our post the other day about giving reiki with your eyes. And I wanted to mention that although it is possible to be able to give reiki without have an empowerment, because it is not something that comes from without, reiki comes from within, it is already within you.. the most direct path is through empowerment.

So, in this post and the previous one about giving reiki with your eyes, as with most of the reiki posts we write here at reiki blogger, I guess we make some general assumptions, like for example that people have received reiki empowerments/attunements.

Giving reiki with your breath is most eaily done after receiving the second degree empowerment. Which is not to say that you can not learn to give reiki with your breath after the first degree.. but the more commonly taught technique is with a symbol given in the second degree, traditionally. (at least that is how I was taught)

The “power” symbol is the one we are talking about here.

The method is, like all reiki techniques, very simple, and widely accessable to reiki people. Simply, you draw you in breath down to your hara, draw the “power” symbol on the roof of your mouth with your tongue, and gently exhale.

It is not entirely dissimilar to room clearing. In its use of this symbol.

Another key aspect of this practise is understanding that your body is an energy system and as such is continueously permeated by reiki energy. You do not only give and receive reiki through your hands or the outside of your body.

You can literally give reiki from any part of your body. Usui used to give reiki with his feet! Alot of people assume that they can only give reiki with their hands, and this is perpetuated by many “masters” because they feature so promnantly during the empowerment process.

But, the way reiki moves through different parts of your body is something that can be noticed, practised, and used for healing yourself and others.

For example, if a person has received the reiki 1 empowerment, shodon in the more traditional japanese styles (lets steer away from calling it more “pure”), only, then they should still feel confident that they can master this practise without the use of symbols.

Symbols and mantras are merely a support. Similar to the empowerment process. Which is also merely an external support.

In the same way that the energy flows through your hands, the reiki can effortlessly flow through your breath. You just need to find the inner connection to the energy, which is introduced in most all cases during the empowerments, and followed up in your subsaquent treatment practise sessions with your reiki friend/teacher.

While the flow of reiki is more subtle when practised with the breath or eyes, or feet, or ears.. whatever.. it is no less healing and helpful. Just think, if more people could walk the streets and supermarkets and workplaces with reiki comes out their ears!
