Reiki, healing mental habits
Things to consider and know about healing mental habits with reiki, in no particular order..
# Reiki Ideals
The story goes that when Usui was treating people he found that much of the problems with people’s life circumstances that appeared to improve after they received reiki treatments with him returned after a period of time. It is suggested, in some reiki lineages, that this was the reasoning behind Usui teaching the contemplation and training in the reiki ideals. From the point of view of this reiki person, it is one thing to examine your mental habits and beliefs, and to tear down the olde ways of doing things, but you have to also have something to put in their place.
# Give reiki to your head
You should give hands on reiki to your head if you want to heal mental habits.
# Think about chakras
Think about which chakras are related to the mental habits you are wanting to heal, and give reiki to them.
# More than a few treatments
Do not expect miracles with reiki. Reiki is a slow and gentle healing process. At least that is the best way to practise it. You should not push your system too hard. Give yourself lots of shorter treatments and give yourself time to adjust to the changing in your energy.
# It all starts with energy
Remember that it is possible to change any mental habit. Because, basically your mental habits are energy systems, and reiki helps energy. It is that simple. Reiki is able to change the way energy moves, help if flow through the channels in your body more freely. Reiki heals energy. There is no energy pattern, no mental habit, that is stronger or immoveable. Some just take alot longer than others.
Please note.. reiki is not a substitute to conventional therapy. You should always you mainstream solutions aswell, especially more serious mental health issues. For example, while reiki has been shown to greatly help the relaxation and well being of elderly people with dementia, it is not a substitute to psycho-geratic medication. Please use common sense, and promote inclusiveness, with alternative healing, in your healing.
# Meditation with reiki
Meditation, as is translated in the tibetan buddhist tradition, closely corrolelates to familiarity. So, meditation is merely becoming familiar with something. Alot of people do alot of TV meditation. And work meditation. If you are interested in healing mental habits, and you are a reiki person (or becoming interested in reiki) I would suggest doing some reiki meditation. Simply, sitting in a chair, hands either in front in prayer position, or on your legs. Let the energy start to flow through your body, and just remain with that as your focus.
The number one remedy for mental habituation is reiki contemplation. Hands down. Reiki has a freeing quality about it. A loving and kind atmosphere. (This may start to sound a little fluffy, because reiki is how each person experiences it, not really how I say it is..) But, I do think reiki is a very gentle and peaceful healing energy. But, at the same time, in its heart, reiki is not a “thing”, it is actually of the nature of non-duality, so it is naturally free of conceptualisation.. the best remedy to mental habituation.
# Presence
Which leads you gently towards becoming more presence. Just mere presence. Remember the ideals, remember that meditation is like an old person watching children play (quietly amused.. and wisely aware.. of the futility of play and games and life.. perhaps), and keep your meditation focus as merely the reiki energy itself.. and you will slowly be something quite fulfilled and contented. A spontaneously joyful, without over exuberence, and kind presence.
# Naturally free
Which is naturally free of mental habits like embarassment, anger, jealousy, smugness, arrogance, self-hatred, self-pity/loathing.. whatever mental habit you had decided at the start of this post you wanted to heal.
