2 common ailments to use Reiki on
Walking with D. tonight (my wife Donyo) we were chatting about what she thought I should write about on Reiki Blogger.
She had some great suggestions including: Reiki and palliative care (which I have been thinking about for some time. But, it is going to be a long post, and needs lots more research) Documentation (case/client notes) for treatments, what is a good model to follow. (We will also have a look at Reiki and the Law in relation to your duty of care as a Reiki Healer)
But, the winner in the end was her suggestion of the 2 most common ailments we have been treating with Reiki lately. And I would love if you have had some success with giving Reiki for any particular ailments, if you would leave a comment for the Reiki Blogger community to read.
1 Insomnia.
Which, links in a little to a previous post about Reiki and dreaming. In that it is the same principles that apply in treating Insomnia with Reiki as does using Reiki to enhance dream recall and lucid dreaming.
Which is that you give yourself a Reiki treatment before bed. The only difference being that if you wake for periods in the night, you then also give yourself a short (20 mins) Reiki self treatment.
Obviously, to follow this advice you need to receive the Reiki 1 empowerment. But, if you are lucky enough to have a partner who has Reiki 1 and is willing to help you with your sleep difficulties, someone else giving you Reiki is great too.
Not only does the Reiki help relax your brain wave functioning, which facilitates sleeping, and also help to heal the energetic cause of the sleep difficulties, your mind also becomes accustomed to being in a relaxed state when you are about to sleep, and during times you stir during the night.
2. Joint stiffness.
This is a common one with older clients. Also, particularly good if you are working with the elderly, in Nursing Homes for example. Reiki is excellent to bring into Nursing Homes, where human contact is so limited. It can also restore a warm and friendliness to a clinical atmosphere.
As with the majority of Reiki treatment examples there is little or no research data to point to which can suggest scientific logic for the success Reiki has with certain ailments. So, for this one, let us just say that “perhaps” Reiki helps restore better energy circulation and connection. Relieving and soothing some old aches and pains.
