How can reiki help you with parenting?

This is the first in a series of brief posts about how reiki can help with raising your kids.

PART 1

Most parents will tell you that one of the most important things a child needs is a good, consistent routine.

Part of our childrens routine is to have some relaxation time before they go to sleep. For the littlest ones that includes having some warm milk sitting in mum’s arms, while she rocks gently in a big chair in their room. Relaxing whale music softly plays in the background.

For the eldest one (who is eight) we read a few chapters of a book and talk.. if anything comes up that he wants to chat about. Him in bed, dad sitting on the bed.

And then to finish off the evening relaxation routine, we give the kids some hands on reiki.

They all love reiki. They like the warmth they sense from it, both inside them and from the hands. It is a great way to connect with the kids, and for them to feel close to their parents.

It also relaxes them further, and helps them drift off to sleep, in a very warm hearted and peaceful way.

Usually, reiki will slow brain waves to alpha or theta rates, during a normal treatment. And this is a very good state for the kids to go off to pleasant sleep. It also makes them feel safe and protected and often this is a very positive atmosphere to debrief about anything that might have happened at school or during the day that might need letting go of before sleep.

CONCLUSION

Reiki helps relax you and your kids when you give them hands on healing. Given before they go to sleep, it will help your kids drift off more easily and more peacefully. They will get better sleep as a result and wake up more refreshed and better equiped to move through their day with contentment and kindness.
